AVS100.2/AVS200.2 - Rimu and Kauri finishes

General Description

The Image AVS100.2 (foreground) and AVS200.2 active subwoofers are both optimised to reproduce the lowest octaves accurately and blend seamlessly with Image floor standing and bookshelf models. With more than 200 watts RMS available in both models there is more than enough power for any domestic application.

The unique characteristics of both Image subwoofer drivers allow them to be used in relatively small enclosures, producing deep and accurate bass in your listening room to 25Hz and below. They will fulfil every demand for deep clean bass reproduction like THX/Dolby Digital/DTS home theatre subwoofer applications and will also be at home with the most demanding High-end audio system.

For small to medium rooms we recommend the AVS100.2 and for larger rooms we recommend the AVS200.2. For the ultimate system, consider running one AVS100.2 each channel with your main speakers.

Internal bracing is an integral part of all Image speaker systems, but the immense forces created by the Image subwoofer drivers means these cabinets require even more extensive 'woodwork' to take care of the critical enclosure stress. The AVS100.2 uses a four side internal frame with cross bracing and two point front to rear sections and the AVS200.2 has two full size 'open baffle' braces at specific points plus two point front to rear sections that lock the front and rear baffles. For both, the result is an inert cabinet structure that prevents any significant panel movement or resonance that can add to the sound or affect the efficiency of the systems.

Wiring the subwoofers to your system is very easy and you can choose high level (speaker) or low level (RCA) inputs.

Brief facilities include:

  • Active and variable Low pass crossover from 50-100Hz to add the lowest octaves seamlessly to your main speakers.
  • Variable subwoofer amplifier gain (volume) control to match the subwoofer output to your main speakers.
  • Crossover on/off switch so you can choose to use the crossover within a surround sound processor rather than the crossover within the Image subwoofer.
  • Phase reverse switch to align your main speaker phase with the subwoofer driver.
  • Auto standby that deactivates the amplifier to save power when no signal is present.
  • Thermal overload to prevent the subwoofer amplifier overheating if overpowered.
  • Gold plated input and output connectors for perfect signal transfer.
  • LED power indicator.
  • Master power switch.
  • Solid brass adjustable floor spikes.
